  • Overview

    The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the CIS Controls team, create content for Controls products, provide technical support to customers, and support the team as necessary. This position is telecommute optional.

    What You'll Do

    • Lead the online development and writing process for CIS Controls security best practice companion guides
    • Lead and manage CIS Controls tooling efforts
    • Research attack models and attack data to help validate and prioritize CIS Controls
    • Work across CIS to ensure CIS Controls are referenced accurately and appropriately in our product lines
    • Conduct analysis and technical mapping to ensure CIS best practices align with major compliance frameworks, such as NIST, ISO, and COBIT
    • Edit and review CIS Controls products
    • Draft white papers or blogs on how CIS best practices help organizations to improve security
    • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

    What You'll Need

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, IT, or related field or equivalent work experience*
    • 3+ years of professional experience in Cybersecurity, IT operations, and or IT security field
    • Demonstrate an understanding of cybersecurity principles, terminology, standards, and frameworks such as NIST, FISMA, and ISO
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States

    *Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree

     

    It's a Plus if You Have:

    • Previous experience working in an agile environment
    • Industry recognized certifications (e.g. GIAC)
    • Proficiency in contemporary programming languages such as Python
    • Proficiency in XML and its use in automated scoring tools functionality
