  • Overview

    The Director of Cyber Intelligence (D-CI) oversees our Intel team, which provides intelligence in the form of the collection, analysis, and dissemination of raw, technical, operational, and strategic information and intelligence related to the cyber concerns of state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT).


    The Director of Cyber Intelligence determines the strategic technical direction, development and future growth of the cyber intelligence programs within Operations. The D-CI shall demonstrate and support the organization’s leadership principles. They will conduct research and case studies on trends, threat intelligence, data correlation, data analytics, methodologies and technologies, and recommend and coordinate the implementation of approved initiatives.

    What You'll Do

    • Provide strategic leadership and direction of the Cyber Intelligence program to include personnel management and training of the Analysts on the Intelligence team
    • Responsible for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of raw, technical, threat intelligence, and strategic information created and published by the Intel Team in coordination with the VP of Operations
    • Manage the production of all-source finished cyber intelligence analysis by the Intel Team and Elections Infrastructure/Multi-State (EI\MS) Operations Center to ensure that production adheres to ISAC and CIS standards
    • Manage responses to EI\MS-ISAC members and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to ensure all intelligence and/or data analysis requests are promptly responded to and completed in a timely manner
    • Oversee briefings and presentations provided by Intel Analysts and Senior Intel Analysts
    • Identify opportunities to integrate the classified space and classified intelligence into EI\MS-ISAC operations
    • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

    What You'll Need

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Journalism, or a related field*
    • 5+ years’ experience as an Intel Analyst, cybersecurity specialist, or related position
    • 5+ years’ experience as technical or intelligence leader, instructor, and/or manager, providing a team of intelligence analysts with guidance, direction, and constructive feedback on a day to day basis in a fast pace work environment
    • In-depth knowledge of intelligence analysis, cyber threat intelligence, actors, malware, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), malware, cybersecurity best practices, and various security methodologies, processes, and technical security solutions (firewalls and intrusion detection systems)
    • Working knowledge of system log analysis, incident response, forensics analysis, malware analysis, attack vectors, advanced persistent threat actors, and SOC operations
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly articulate technical cyber matters to a variety of audiences
    • Substantial working knowledge of cyber security threats and mitigation strategies

    *Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.

     

    It's a Plus if You Have:

    • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Journalism, or related field
    • 5+ years’ experience with technical writing, journalism, senior and leadership roles, project management and coordination
    • Working knowledge of federal and/or SLTT government cyber environments
    • Working knowledge of law enforcement operations and concerns
    • Industry related certification such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA, etc.
