Quality Assurance Software Engineer

The primary purpose of the Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer is to ensure the successful execution of QA testing of cybersecurity products within a fast-paced Agile development environment. This position will support the team to continually improve code quality by implementing effective QA testing practices and tools, including automated test writing.
Individuals with application and web development experience are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

  • Implement the software development team’s Quality Assurance process from requirements and design to production deployment
  • Participate in functional requirement and technical design discussions to plan and collect information for test development
  • Develop functional test cases that represent business challenges and issues
  • Implement all types of testing as needed, including functional, regression, performance, and security
  • Develop and execute automated testing processes
  • Assist software engineers to define development tasks and testable metrics
  • Identify and collect quality metrics that support software development lifecycle performance improvement
  • Continually evaluate testing approaches, tools and stacks
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field*
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in Information Technology, Information Security, Cybersecurity or related field
  • Experience in testing automation using tools like Symfony Test Client, Laravel Dusk, Selenium or similar
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Must be team oriented and able to contribute ideas to improve efficiency and productivity
  • The position is open to U.S. citizens and requires a favorably adjudicated DHS Fitness Review for Public Trust Positions
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.


It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Hands-on expertise with Symfony/Laravel/PHP/JavaScript/Python
  • Experience with PHP Unit Testing
  • Experience using load testing tools
  • Experience with continuous deployment tools
  • Experience in AWS (operation + API), and other cloud infrastructures
  • Experience using GIT
  • Solid foundation in SDLC and working experience in the Agile process framework (e.g., Scrum) and Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence)
