Sr. Marketing Content Specialist

The primary purpose of this position is to create and edit written content for the CIS website and other distribution channels. This individual will support the Marketing and Communications teams by producing engaging long and short form content on cybersecurity and the CIS portfolio including blog posts, emails, case studies, white papers, social media posts, video scripts, advertisements, collateral, and other formats.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for writing and editing content for a variety of audiences and user personas, leveraging preapproved CIS messaging and style guide
  • Research and follow best practices for SEO, readability, open-rates, and conversion rates
  • Administer content creation tools and platforms for publishing
  • Act as liaison with outside vendor/partners to help with the creation, delivery, and implementation of various deliverables
  • Stay current with trends and best practices in the cybersecurity industry to identify relevant topics, fact-check, and analyze sources to generate compelling and contextualized content
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, English, or related discipline*
  • 3+ years’ professional experience in content creation, editing, and content development
  • Experience with copywriting with technical subject matter
  • A solid understanding of product and brand positioning and writing effective marketing content
  • Ability to write within brand and editorial guidelines, messaging and positioning for different markets, products, offers and placements
  • Ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects while meeting demanding deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent
and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.


It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Experience using content creation and publishing tools
  • Experience using CRM and marketing automation tools such as Salesforce and Pardot
  • Experience with Google Analytics
