Overview

The Senior Vice President, Deputy of Operations & Security Services (OSS) provides executive leadership for the OSS organization at the Center for Internet Security (CIS). Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Operations & Security Services, the Senior Vice President will help execute our mission to improve the cybersecurity posture of state, local, tribal and territorial (SLTT) organizations through the development and delivery of a range of products and services. This position is responsible for the planning, development and execution of OSS initiatives consistent with the objectives and priorities of the organization. The Senior Vice President, Deputy of OSS will foster the CIS leadership culture and help the OSS organization focus on meeting the needs of SLTT organizations.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the second in command to the Executive Vice President of OSS, representing him/her in their absence and participating fully in the management of the OSS organization
  • Work closely with OSS senior management and organization divisions to improve collaboration and operational efficiency among OSS work teams
  • Develop trusted relationships with the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MSISAC) and Elections Infrastructure Sharing and Analysis Center (EI-ISAC) members as well as federal and private sector partners
  • In coordination with OSS Senior Leadership and the CTO, evaluate, recommend, and execute the implementation of ISAC-related tools, services, and processes that help to improve the security posture of State, Local, Tribal and Territorial government entities (SLTTs) as well as having potential application to non-government organizations
  • Lead the OSS cyber research program responsible for evaluating emerging cybersecurity, information security, and information assurance technologies and developing appropriate plans for incorporating them into future OSS initiatives
  • Design and implement operational strategies that support CIS and customer strategic priorities
  • Oversee the CIS cyber education & training efforts, including the US Cyber Challenge (USSC) program as well as developing programs to leverage CIS’ unique training capabilities
  • Demonstrate broad understanding of the business context across the organization with ability to clearly communicate the organization’s vision and mission
  • Develop and present executive level briefings
  • Identify and engage in senior-level speaking opportunities on behalf of CIS
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork across CIS
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field*
  • 7+ years’ progressive experience in the management of large-scale operations organizations (preferably in security or intelligence)
  • 3+ years’ experience operating as part of an executive leadership team
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute highly effective operational strategies, organizational innovation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience developing and managing departmental budgets and solid financial acumen
  • Demonstrated experience leading in a complex, multi stakeholder organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Exemplary personal and professional integrity
  • The position is open to U.S. citizens and requires a favorably adjudicated DHS Fitness Review for Public Trust Positions**
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Graduate level degree in a related field
  • Experience implementing security products and establishing monitoring capabilities for large enterprises
  • 3+ years’ experience coordinating with federal, state and local government officials
  • 7+ years’ experience managing large-scale operations-focused organizations
  • Familiarity with state and local information technologies and organizations
  • Knowledge of elections processes and infrastructures
  • Non-Profit experience

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent
and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
