Senior Cloud Solutions Architect

The Senior Cloud Solutions Architect will lead the Cloud development team, working closely with the Cloud Product Owner (PO), and the Benchmarks Product Owner. The primary purpose of this position is to lead the development and architecture of CIS customer focused products in multiple Cloud Service Providers (CSP).


This position is on hold due to the coronavirus health crisis. We are accepting applications and interviewing, but may not be able to make an offer in the immediate future.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and collaborate with the Cloud development teams, including managing the workload as prioritized by the Cloud PO
  • Develop and implement cloud migration strategies of CIS Hardened Image products (managing product updates, testing, migration to Marketplace or Customer environments)
  • Develop Cloud Security products including requirement gathering, scripting and migration to cloud environments
  • Coordinate and communicate solutions related to InfoSec policies and procedures
  • Develop containerization solutions (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with technical resources from each of the Cloud Service Providers where CIS develops products
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline*
  • 2+ years of hands-on Cloud product development experience (engineering/administration)
  • 1+ years of experience leading technical teams in cloud development, or additional 2+ years of cloud product development experience
  • 4+ years of professional Systems Administration or similar experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Shared Responsibility Model along with security features and tools that the CSP's provide and how they relate to traditional services
  • Experience with Ansible, and/or Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, or related tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Experience in a large, enterprise environment (regional is acceptable, national is preferred)
  • Proficiency using Atlassian products Jira and Confluence
  • Proficiency in agile development method Scrum
  • Strong knowledge of the different service models offered in the cloud (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, and FaaS)

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
