Overview

The Senior Vice President, Deputy of Security Best Practices (SBP) provides technological expertise and executive leadership for the SBP organization at the Center for Internet Security (CIS). Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Security Best Practices, the Senior Vice President will support our mission to help improve the cybersecurity posture of organizations through development of a range of security best practice products and services. This position is responsible for the conceptualization, planning, development and execution of SBP initiatives while ensuring alignment to the objectives and priorities of the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the second in command to the Executive Vice President of SBP, representing him/her in their absence. Work closely with the SBP Senior Management, playing a key role in organization management and ensuring the technical merits of products and services. Lead or contribute to cross functional and cross organization initiatives and projects
  • In coordination with SBP Senior Leadership and the CIS CTO, evaluate state of the art technologies. Recommend the implementation of new technologies or the enhancement of CIS products and services based on innovative technological solutions
  • Guide SBP efforts to understand and characterize the needs of CIS customers leading to the identification, prioritization, and development of appropriate products and services
  • In coordination with the SBP Leadership, oversee the development and deployment of SBP products and services to ensure timeliness, adherence to budget, and quality
  • Identify and help sponsor internal research and development (IR&D) candidates as well as monitor industry research and development efforts that might be appropriate for prototyping or cooperative development.
  • Design, plan and implement operational strategies that support organization-wide strategic priorities
  • Contribute broad understanding of the business context in contributing to strategic planning across the CIS organization
  • Clearly communicate the organization’s vision and mission as well as the value of CIS products and services externally through presentations and briefings to executives and key stakeholder groups
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field*
  • Minimum of eight years’ progressive experience in a technology role (preferably in security)
  • Minimum of three years’ experience operating as part of an executive leadership team
  • Advanced technological skill set
  • Forward thinker with extensive industry knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute highly effective operational strategies, organizational innovation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience developing and managing departmental budgets and solid financial acumen
  • Demonstrated experience leading in a complex, multi stakeholder organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Exemplary personal and professional integrity
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a National Security clearance
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Non-Profit experience

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Master’s degree.
