The Senior Program Manager position will manage complex and strategic program initiatives spanning multiple domains in the CIS organization. In addition, the Senior Program Manager will ensure that CIS leverages proven program management processes and methods in the execution of all CIS program and project management efforts. This position will be a key agent for driving the maturity of project execution across CIS. The candidate will coach individual CIS project managers in best practices.

What You'll Do

Management & Leadership

  • Provide program management for complex, high priority initiatives
  • Oversee programs and projects being executed within CIS to ensure that they are following sound management practices and that the projects are on track to deliver the expected results
  • Lead or support engagement with contractor program management personnel to ensure a disciplined execution of key programs
  • Lead the improvement of the CIS Program Management Office (PMO) processes and standard practices with continuous improvement following proven program management processes and methods as well as Agile principles.
  • Develop templates, standards and best practices for the PMO and CIS program and project managers
  • Provide coaching and training to CIS-wide project managers to develop improved project management capabilities

Strategic Program Management

  • Coordinate among internal and external stakeholders as well as contractors/vendors to ensure effective execution of CIS projects and programs
  • Develop and gain agreement on project and program objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility
  • Ensure appropriate documentation on programs and underlying projects
  • Track program performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques identifying and ensuring action on program issues.
  • Identify and manage program risks and ensure that risk mitigation steps are taken in a timely manner
  • Manage relationships among all stakeholders, including internal and external customers as well as contractors and vendors.
  • Present progress reports as well as identified problems and solutions to stakeholders and management
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business or a related field*
  • 15+ years’ experience in program and project management of significant sized program/projects
  • 3+ years’ leadership experience in program management function spanning multiple company-wide technology programs/projects
  • Program management related certifications (or equivalent additional experience/education)
  • Proven capabilities in developing and mentoring strong project management teams
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
  • Experience developing processes and procedures to drive project management maturity
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Candidate must be eligible to obtain National Security Clearance
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Business or related field
  • Strong presentation capabilities
  • Microsoft Project expertise
  • Project Management experience in Cybersecurity field

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
