The Device Engineering/Support Intern position is assigned to the Engineering unit within the Security Operations Center (SOC). The primary purpose of this position is to gain experience while serving as an Engineering support team member to help maintain the infrastructure used to monitor State, Local, Tribal and Territorial (SLTT) government networks.

What You'll Do

  • Triage issues related to network security device monitoring
  • Field questions and customer requests received via phone and email to ensure all items are promptly responded to and completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all open tickets are actively being followed-up on and tracked to completion
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of the CIS Albert and other monitoring infrastructure
  • Effectively transition action items to SOC Analysts and other teams as applicable
  • Identify and escalate advanced issues to Device Engineering Specialists or Support personnel
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • 2 years of study in Computer Science/Cybersecurity or related field
  • Overall GPA is 3.0 or higher and Major GPA 2.8 or higher
  • Positive customer service and team-oriented attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • The position is open to U.S. citizens and requires a favorably adjudicated DHS Fitness Review for Public Trust Positions**

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Working knowledge of UNIX-based operating systems.
  • Basic scripting skills
