As an HR Support Specialist, you will provide functional support and administrative assistance to the Human Resources Department for a broad capacity of tasks, projects, and other corporate initiatives. You will act as the first point of contact for general HR questions and support requests, responding and/or following up with the relevant team members or external contacts to ensure a timely resolution. You should have a desire to work on an agile team with a passion for continuous improvement.

 

This location is partially remote but must be able to commute to our offices in the Albany, NY area as needed. You will report to the Director of Human Resources.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with administering and executing human resource programs and policies including but not limited to; performance and talent management; and training and development
  • Assist with the creation, design, and maintenance of Human Resources information, communications and presentations
  • Assist with employee data transactions and maintain data integrity within our Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities
  • Liaise with internal and external partners, with a focus on positive customer service
  • Assist with troubleshooting system issues in coordination with HRIS provider, carriers, staff and other stakeholders
  • Perform data collection and reporting on employee support requests through the Human Resources ticketing system
  • Research and share knowledge of HR policies, trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field*
  • 1+ years of previous Human Resources experience
  • Ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential material
  • Experience with HRIS
  • Strong customer service experience and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Federal and State employment and labor laws
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
