The Security Best Practices team at CIS is looking for an Engineering Team Leader to act as primary technical stakeholder for the health and progress of our one of a kind Controls Self Assessment Tool. This role requires a strong computer science background with an emphasis in Java/Groovy development and a DevOps mindset. The team lead needs to have strong skills in technology, leadership, and customer focus.
Lead, mentor and coach team members, fostering a mindset of continuous improvement, professional development and organizational engagement
Perform software engineering activities, including: addition of new, innovative functionality and features to the CIS product suite of security applications, regular maintenance and issue resolutions, continual improvement of CI/CD automation and engineering best practices
Stay current on technology trends and work with various stakeholders and teams to understand our users needs and determine how to deliver the most value to customers

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field*
7+ years of software engineering experience
2+ years of operational experience in a DevOps team
Excellent working knowledge of Java/Groovy development
Experience collaborating with and/or training other colleagues
Strong experience with CI/CD automation: testing, builds, deploys, monitoring
Ability to communicate effectively with a remote team, and stakeholders with varying technical literacy
Experience, designing, recommending, and implementing software solutions
Fundamental understanding of agile principles and corresponding methodologies
Must be authorized to work in the United States
*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
It's a Plus if You Have:
2+ years of DevOps leadership experience
Experience leading a remote team
Experience working directly with customers in a support and design capacity
Experience in secure product development life cycles (SDLC) practices, including usage of SAST/DAST tools
Experience in AWS Cloud environments including web application infrastructures and CI/CD services
Experience with the Grails framework
