The Senior Director of Benchmark Development position requires an experienced technical leader to lead CIS in developing a range of security best practices products and services. You will lead an established and respected technical workforce while harnessing the power of subject matter experts across a wide range of commercial, non-profit, and government partners. You will also be responsible for the conceptualization, planning, development, delivery and sustainment of community developed, consensus driven best practice Benchmarks and Cloud Hardened Images.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic, inclusive leadership and mentoring to the teams of technical and support individuals comprising the Benchmark Product Line
  • Synchronize, collaborate and integrate with other Security Best Practices (SBP) product lines and CIS’ Business Development team to ensure the technical merits, relevance and cohesion of products and services
  • Lead or contribute to cross functional initiatives and projects related to Benchmarks and Security Best Practices
  • Evaluate state of the art technologies and the ever-changing cybersecurity landscape, and lead implementation of new and innovative technologies or enhancements of Benchmark and Cloud Hardened Image products and services
  • Guide Benchmark team efforts to understand and characterize the needs of CIS customers, leading to the identification, prioritization, development, delivery and sustainment of critical products and services
  • Ensure timeliness, adherence to budget, and quality of all products and services delivered within the Benchmark team portfolio
  • Nurture and establish relationships and partnerships across commercial, non-profit, academic, government, and standards organizations in support of Benchmarks, Cloud Hardened Image and other cybersecurity best practice activities
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in a technology role (preferably in security)
  • 3+ years’ experience leading a technical team or equivalent
  • Forward thinker with extensive industry knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute highly effective operational strategies, organizational innovation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience developing and managing departmental budgets and solid financial acumen
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
