The Senior Director Agile Program Office (APO) leads a small, dedicated team of highly capable Agile Coaches and Instructors whose mission is to drive and support the successful implementation of Agile philosophy and practices across the CIS. The incumbent is responsible for engaging with key programs and targeted organizations within CIS to ensure successful planning for, training on, and implementation of appropriate Agile practices. The incumbent leads or participates in the planning of key CIS strategic initiatives that rely on Agile practices.  The scope of this role and the APO is broad, cross functional and throughout all levels of the CIS organization. The actions of the incumbent enable CIS to work smarter and more efficiently by employing a rapid delivery model with laser focus on responding to customer needs. The incumbent ensures that CIS’s Agile strategy drives an improved ability to meet CIS mission needs.

• Develop and maintain an Agile Strategic Plan that identifies an overall strategy for Agile implementation as well as low hanging fruit and mid to long-term opportunities
• Convert the Agile Strategic Plan strategy into action. Apply proven experience to aggressively drive Agile improvements within CIS
• Ensure that Agile methods are being properly and consistently implemented across CIS
• Assemble the talent, process, and tools necessary to build a highly capable Agile Program Office (APO) that can support and evangelize a practical and effective implementation of Agile practices and approaches
• Lead Agile coaching, mentoring and training efforts across project and program teams within the PMO and in CIS Business Units to aid in their successful application of Agile principles and processes
• Recommend standards for Agile processes and tools
• Lead cross-functional teams implementing Agile methods to develop new processes and practices
• Manage the budget and costs for the APO
• Develop Agile baselines, benchmarks and scorecards that can be used for continuous improvement of Agile processes and practices
• Ability to quickly understand the depth and breadth of internal organizational functions and processes as well as scan external ecosystems to identify emerging practices, processes, and technologies or vendors that are viable partners to compliment, innovate and add value to CIS’s Agile initiative
• Serve as CIS’s leading expert in process efficiency, strategic planning, and rapid customer-centric delivery models
• Serve as needed as a strategic planning coordinator and coach for individual departments or CIS leadership to establish consistent, repeatable models employing Agile methodologies
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in leading and successfully implementing Agile acting as a change agent
• Minimum of 10 years serving as a Scrum Master or process improvement specialist, successfully leveraging Agile methods and processes
• Proven ability to promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement and innovation that values learning and a commitment to quality
• Ability to rapidly drive theory into practical application with a focus on successful implementation
• Ability to recognize when other methodologies (e.g. Waterfall development) are appropriate and can make the overall delivery model stronger
• Solid operational management and general business skills
• In-depth knowledge of Agile practices and principles that govern change management
• Demonstrated strong communication skills and coaching abilities
• Team player at executive levels with demonstrated ability to collaborate with line business units and functional partners such as IT, Finance, HR, Legal and others
• Strong communication and leadership skills, strategic mindset, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field of expertise
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Full COVID-19 vaccination may be required

It's A Plus If You Have:

• Master’s degree in leadership, process engineering, or a related field
• Nonprofit procurement experience

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
