The Business Analyst (BA) will work as a member of one or more project teams to facilitate the elicitation of requirements by CIS business owners, ensuring that these requirements are conveyed to development organizations consistently and in an understandable manner.  The BA will utilize multiple information sources including personal interviews, functionality of existing systems, available documentation including documentation of capability gaps, and knowledge of the CIS systems enterprise to develop a deep understanding of desired features and functions from an end-user perspective.  The BA will work with both the end users and system developers to facilitate an accurate understanding of end user needs throughout the development process. The BA will also participate in the review of early developer products (e.g., wireframes, prototypes) and assist in the identification of test cases necessary to confirm successful implementation of the desired business capabilities.

 

What You'll Do

  • Meet with relevant stakeholders, subject matter experts, users, and executive teams to elicit business requirements, assist in conveying them to system developers, and support accurate translation of those requirements into effective solutions 
  • Understand the user community, data sources and integrations, system interfaces, and cross-departmental usage of desired functionality 
  • Create and maintain appropriate (i.e., only what is necessary) high-level documentation of business processes and workflows in support of system design 
  • Provide input to developers to assist them in understanding customer business needs in order to improve overall business process efficiency 
  • Participate in identification of success criteria, and creation of test scenarios and test cases in support of system validation 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology or related field*
  • 4+ years as a Business Analyst or equivalent role, interacting with non-technical stakeholders to elicit, document, and confirm the accuracy of business requirements
  • 2+ years successfully leading and facilitating requirements gathering sessions with a diverse set of technical and non-technical project participants
  • 2+ years working as a member of an Agile team using Scrum and/or Kanban based approaches   
  • Ability to effectively communicate business processes through the use of written user stories, context diagrams, and swim lane workflows
  • Experience designing comprehensive test plans with measurable testing criteria
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination may be required
  •  Must be authorized to work in the United States

It's A Plus If You Have:

  • International Institute of Business Analysis – Agile Analysis Certification (or similar)
  • 2+ years working with Jira and Confluence work management and collaboration tools
  • Prior experience working with a Digital Experience Design Platform (e.g. SiteCore, Liferay, etc.) to participate in the configuration of efficient User Experience interfaces
  • 2+ years working with business stakeholders to design new business processes and workflows

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree
