The primary purpose of this highly technical Accountant position is to assist in the analysis and reconciliation of accounting transactions at CIS. This position will assist in managing multiple levels and subclasses in a detailed financial system and be responsible for ensuring proper information and practices are being utilized in the Accounting function. 

• Perform Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable functions
• Maintain supporting documentation for transactions electronically
• Assist in the review of financial statements to verify accuracy of transactions; prepare adjusting journal entries for each business unit and subsidiary accounts to ensure financial statements accurately reflect operations
• Assist management with addressing issues and/or questions related to the monthly operating review
• Assist in the analysis and reconciliation of the activities of balance sheets and financial statements; prepare adjusting journal entries and schedules as needed, and summarize and report on financial status
• Communicate with external vendors/customers and various internal stakeholders to gather information to support the financial reporting process
• Assist in the preparation and recording of asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting and compliance with appropriate accounting standards
• Ensure and follow department compliance with best practices and standards, and recommend improvements to company accounting practices
• Assist in gathering data for annual audits
• Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance*
• 1+ years’ experience in Accounting, Finance or related work
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail with accuracy and good record keeping
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management
• Strong proficiency with accounting software, preferably Quickbooks
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
  
  

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s Degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s Degree.

It's A Plus If You Have:

• Certified Public Accountant, or CPA coursework in progress
• 2+ years’ experience in Accounting, Finance or related work
