Overview

The Vice President of Business Development reports to the Executive Vice President of Sales and Business Services and is responsible for the overall business development strategy and execution for a rapidly growing and evolving business. This includes development and implementation of comprehensive business development strategies and plans to increase the reach and influence of CIS’s mission and enhance revenue opportunities; building and managing distribution channels; developing and managing partnerships; cultivating existing relationships; identifying new markets and emerging trends; and growing existing program/product areas. This position is expected to uphold the mission and values established by the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Design, recommend, implement and support strategic business plans for market expansion for both new product/program development and existing product/program growth.
  • Design and execute strategies that lead to a strong portfolio of organization growth opportunities while collaborating with the business units to translate strategies into action plans and programs.
  • Responsible for leading the development and operationalization of the Partner strategies and frameworks in collaboration with senior leadership and key stakeholders to develop a robust, end-to-end Alliances and Partnerships program, and serve as our expert on Partner needs and growth.
  • Oversee the development of best practices and processes for Partnership and Alliance management, including KPIs and the reporting cadence for progress and performance.
  • Provide executive oversight to the Business Development Team, managing the effective performance of staff members as well as talent recruitment, development, and mentoring to meet rapidly expanding mission demands.
  • Identify emerging trends and corresponding market segments and develop and implement corresponding market entrance strategies.
  • Build, manage and maintain strategic relationships, business channels, and networks that result in robust sales pipelines and mission focused strategic opportunities.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of our current and future member businesses; including their strategies, markets, risks, business models, personnel and the opportunities they present to CIS.
  • Creatively identify high impact potential business opportunities working with existing and potential members and partners.
  • Assist in developing an evaluation process to gain continuous feedback from members, customers, and partners.
  • Attract and retain members and partners by developing highly creative outreach strategies in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Proactively identify, in collaboration with key stakeholders, emerging member/customer/partner needs.
  • Assist in identifying and presenting at strategic events/conferences and planning events/conferences that will promote growth of CIS products and services.
  • Cultivate relationships across CIS business units and the executive team to assist in the successful adoption of the Business Development function and process.
  • Manage internal tools for accurate reporting, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the cybersecurity industry and its current events. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field. *
  • 8+ years’ experience in client relationship management, professional services, business development, and B2B sales.
  • 5+ years’ in a senior management role with direct experience leading, managing, supervising, coaching, and mentoring teams.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with Cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft, or Google).
  • 3+ years’ experience in complex project or program management.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to communicate advanced technical concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven record of strategy development, organizational innovation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Prior experience with financial management and budget process.
  • Proven track record of generating new business.
  • Ability to work with recent technological applications relating to daily tasks.

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
