Senior Systems Engineer

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading and architecting major projects that have high impact while maintaining minimal down time.  The SSE will ensure the security and configuration of our enterprise devices meet all required CIS standards and approved levels of compliance.


This is a work from home position, but must be local to our East Greenbush office since onsite work is requried.

What You'll Do

  • Full life-cycle systems engineering: design, configuration, implementation, and management.
  • Maintain all Cloud and On-Prem infrastructure to ensure each adhere to foundational best practices and compliance standards
  • Assist System Engineers with configuration of networking equipment, virtual appliances, Virtual infrastructure (vCenter, SRM, Horizon View) and Webex Voice and Video system.
  • Setup, manage and configure multiple Netapp storage arrays
  • Prevent, detect, and resolve security threats to the organization
  • Identify and drive improvements in infrastructure and system reliability, performance, monitoring and overall stability of CIS systems
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • 4+ years’ experience as a Systems Engineer
  • 3+ years Managing VMware vCenter Environment
  • 2+ years of AWS Cloud experience building and maintaining EC2, S3, VPCs, Trusted Advisor, Load Balancers, S3 Buckets)
  • Experience maintaining and configuring Netapp Storage Arrays
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, IT, or related field or equivalent work experience*
  • AWS or other Cloud based Certifications
  • Experience working with Security Best Practices (CIS, DISA, PCI)
  • Experience working with Security Auditing tools (CIS-CAT, Nessus, Cloudcheckr)
  • Previous experience working in an agile environment

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
