Senior Data Analytics Engineer- Remote

The Senior Data Analytics Engineer will be a senior technical position within CIS’s Information
Technology (IT) Department in the office of the Chief Data Officer. The Senior Data
Analytics Engineer will oversee, architect, and develop the department's data ecosystem,
including writing scripts for data integration, developing data models, and maintaining a PowerBI
reporting and analytics environment. Additionally, the Sr. Data Analytics Engineer must provide
expert technical leadership in helping grow the department - team, processes, and technologies.
The candidate must have experience connecting Analytics with Business Value.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and manage scalable data analytics solutions that CIS uses for exploratory data analysis and real-time analytics
  • Oversee, design, and develop frameworks and solutions that enable quick and efficient data acquisition from a variety of sources
  • Make recommendations to department leadership on product capabilities, direction, investments, and divestments of technologies, products, and services
  • Deploy analytic solutions using Microsoft PowerBI
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to construct stories that can be broken down into small requests and deliverables, with the emphasis being on iteration
  • Work as part of a team that embraces Getting Things Done via Minimal Viable Products
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned


What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, data science, or a related field*
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
  • 3 – 5 + years’ experience working with PowerBI including DAX, Dataflows, PowerQuery, APIs
  • 3 – 5 + years’ experience working in Data Engineering, preferably as a Data Engineer in a fast paced environment
  • Experience building processes supporting data ingestion, transformation, and presentation
  • Experience in dimensional data modeling and schema design
  • Experience with consuming SaaS data via API’s
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Solid Requirements Gathering, Business Analysis and Documentation capabilities
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

It's a plus if you have:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business or related field
  • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Strong presentation capabilities
*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent
and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
