Senior Supplier Management Specialist- Remote

Regular Full-Time


The Sr. Supplier Management Specialist, would be responsible for supplier management, procuring goods and services to meet the needs of the organization. You will interact with multiple CIS Business Units to identify needs and supplier requirements for information technology systems, hardware, software, professional services and other areas as needed. You will be expected to operate with independence, manage suppliers, deliverables, contract renewals, and resolve issues that arise with suppliers. The position requires strong supplier management, negotiation, communications skills and an understanding of the contracting process. You will be expected to effectively communicate cross functionally, engage all stakeholders, and facilitate the necessary internal reviews and approvals. You will be expected to manage a procurement portfolio that results in cost effective solutions that meet the needs of the business. You will be expected to drive improvements and efficiency in procurement process supported by operational metrics.

What You'll Do

  • Vendor management and related procurement activities in support the CIS’s mission.
  • Manage the acquisition, of information technology, SW, professional services, technology solutions, and general goods and services.
  • Engage with key suppliers, review and negotiate pricing, terms and conditions and other supplier requirements as necessary.
  • You will be engaged in preparation of RFI/RFP’s, review of supplier offerings, contracts, agreements and license terms.
  • Review and identify issues, concerns and provide alternatives in supplier agreements to meet the needs of CIS.
  • Purchase materials and supplies, including managing requests.
  • Help identify and pursue opportunities to reduce the cost of goods and services procured by the organization.
  • Maintain accurate records, actively facilitating the purchasing request workload and prioritizing accordingly.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and Federal Purchasing guidelines where applicable.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, log those opportunities and drive those changes to completion.
  • Develop, produce and report on operational metrics to drive decision making.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field*
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in business, procurement, or related areas
  • Contracts, Negotiations and Agreement experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Experience with RFI/RFP development and execution
  • Experience in Information technology procurement
  • Experience in Supplier management
  • Understanding of Project Management concepts

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
