 The Software Developer is assigned to the Information Technology Team at the Center for Internet Security. Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, the Software Developer will partner with other cybersecurity team members to promote the CIS mission and help support our growth. The primary purpose of this position is to support the IT infrastructure needs of the organization. 

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement websites from initial concept, site architecture, and user interface to finished deliverable 
  • Gathers requirements and design specifications, research technologies and make recommendations for future growth 
  • Design RESTful APIs and standards 
  • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline 
  • Troubleshoot distributed event-driven applications and support full-cycle development of software applications 
  • Analyze security measures, security best practices & penetration testing procedures 
  • Act as subject matter expert in evaluating new standards and tools 
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field*
  • 4+ years of experience writing web applications 
  • Knowledgeable in safe programming standards and procedures and how to write secure code 
  • Experience with WordPress including developing custom themes and plugins
  • Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 
  • Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, C#, Vue.JS and JavaScript 
  • Experience with Linux infrastructures, databases SQL (MS SQL), and CI/CD tools
  • Great attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States  
  • Sitecore experience is a plus

 

It's a Plus if you have:

 

  • Knowledge of Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, Agile workflow methodologies 
  • Working knowledge with one or more cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)

 

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
