Overview

The Senior Vice President and Deputy General Manager of Operations & Security Services (OSS) provides executive leadership for the OSS organization at the Center for Internet Security (CIS). Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Operations & Security Services, the Senior Vice President will support our mission to help improve the cybersecurity posture of organizations through a range of products and services. This position is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of OSS initiatives and ensuring alignment to the objectives and priorities of the organization. The Senior Vice President, Deputy General Manager of OSS will cultivate and foster success and growth within the Operations and Security Services function and is viewed as the likely successor to the Executive Vice President.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $275,000 + incentive bonus

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the second in command to the Executive Vice President of OSS, representing him/her in their absence
  • Work closely with Operations and Security Services Senior Management, playing a key role in technical, cross functional projects
  • Provide oversight of the operations functions of the Security Operations Center (SOC), as well as the Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) and Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT), ensuring effective operational support to CIS customers
  • Develop trusted relationships with the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) and Elections Infrastructure Sharing and Analysis Center (EI-ISAC) members as well as federal and private sector partners
  • In coordination with OSS Senior Leadership, evaluate, recommend, and execute the implementation and enhancement of ISAC-related tools, capabilities, and processes to improve the security posture of state, local, tribal and territorial government entities (SLTTs) as well as non-government organizations
  • Assist in oversight of the CIS Stakeholder Engagement Organization, as the single point of contact for SLTT customer organizations as well as global consumers of CIS’s products and services
  • Serve as the senior leader responsible for the proposed OSS Cyber Research program, responsible for doing basic cybersecurity, information security, and information assurance research, with the intention of publishing our findings and incorporating them into future OSS initiatives
  • Design, plan, and implement operational strategies that support organization-wide strategic priorities while ensuring alignment within the OSS function and amongst teams/individuals
  • Oversee the CIS cyber education and training efforts, including leveraging unique CIS training capabilities
  • Demonstrate broad understanding of the business context across the organization with ability to clearly communicate the organization’s vision and mission
  • Assist in developing and executing OSS budget and key performance indicators
  • Develop and present executive level briefings
  • Identify and engage in senior-level speaking opportunities on behalf of CIS
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field*
  • 7+ years’ progressive experience in the management of large-scale operations organizations (preferably as a Chief Information Officer, Chief Information Security Officer or as other Executive in cybersecurity or intelligence)
  • 3+ years’ experience operating as part of an executive leadership team
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute highly effective operational strategies, organizational innovation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience developing and managing departmental budgets and solid financial acumen
  • Demonstrated experience leading in a complex, multi stakeholder organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Exemplary personal and professional integrity
  • The position is open to U.S. citizens and requires a favorably adjudicated DHS Fitness Review for Public Trust Positions**

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Graduate level degree in a related field
  • Experience implementing security products and establishing monitoring capabilities for large enterprises
  • 3+ years’ experience coordinating with federal, state, and local government officials
  • 7+ years’ experience managing large-scale operations-focused organizations
  • Familiarity with state and local information technologies and organizations
  • Knowledge of elections processes and infrastructures
  • Non-Profit experience

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
