Overview

The Principal Cloud Architect will be responsible for architecting and building major cloud projects that have high impact while maintaining minimal down time. The Principal Cloud Architect is a technical position with strong skills and expert knowledge in the design, configuration, and operations of enterprise cloud environments that meet the highest standards for security, scalability, and resiliency.

Salary Range: $128,900 - $195,400

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the most senior technical expert on cloud deployed products and infrastructure within the corporate cloud environments (AWS and Azure) 
  • Lead the organization in developing and coordinating cloud infrastructure architecture, strategy, and deployment processes
  • Work with teams, in an Agile environment, to design, develop, and deploy software solutions using best of breed multi-cloud technologies
  • Lead and drive the Agile and DevOps culture within the cloud team, and IT as a whole
  • Lead the organization in embracing and deploying an Infrastructure as Code (IAC) practice
  • Mentor and set the example for team members to foster a mindset of continuous improvement, professional development, and organizational engagement
  • Provide technical expertise and input into our overall cloud architecture, planning, and designs according to best practices
  • Identify, design, implement, and drive improvements in infrastructure in the areas of automation, system reliability, performance, monitoring, and overall stability of CIS systems
  • Collaborate with Product Owners on requirement definitions, process, and workflow design as well as testing, acceptance, and identifying and resolving issues
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field*
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in implementing, deploying, and managing systems and applications in cloud service providers (Azure, GCP, and AWS)
  • 5+ years’ experience in architecting scalable cloud solutions including compute, storage, databases, and networking
  • 3+ years’ experience using Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools to manage cloud environments
  • 1+ years demonstrated experience collaborating with and successfully training other colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to take technical concepts and requirements and design and deploy them in the cloud, including systems, servers, appliances, network components, and security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various cloud security solutions, including identity and access management, firewalls, web application firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, proxies, etc.

It's A Plus If You Have:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field
  • 2+ years' managing Sitecore environments
  • AWS or other Cloud based technical certifications
  • Experience working with Security Best Practices (CIS, DISA, PCI)
  • Experience working with security auditing and alerting tools (Nessus, Site24, Stacklet)
  • Project management and demonstrable troubleshooting and debugging ability

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree
