Overview

CIS is in search of a proven, capable, confident, competent, and dynamic self-starter who is passionate about working collaboratively to achieve meaningful and lasting impacts on the security maturity of State, Local, Tribal and Territorial (SLTT) government agencies and entities, including public sector education. This position is within the Multi-State Information and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC), a division of CIS. The ideal candidate will be comfortable building and supporting relationships within an assigned region of the United States; interfacing with State Chief Information Officers (CIOs), State Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), executive level staff, as well as technical staff and US DHS Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) partners. This position will provide exceptional service to SLTTs while expertly informing on the solutions and services that can protect their technology.

Salary Range: $69,100 - $104,600

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the SLTT government space, responsible for leading cybersecurity efforts. As part of a team managing relationships with more than 17,000 SLTT member organizations, you will become the trusted point of contact for this growing membership community, fostering connections, confidence, and stakeholder buy-in for key CIS initiatives

  • Leverage basic knowledge of all ISAC, CIS and CISA services, current cyber threats, and local/regional specific initiatives and/or needs to provide the most value to the members. Using this knowledge to coordinate and conduct effective virtual and in-person presentations to SLTTs in the region, as well as setting up and operating conference booth spaces
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, specifically the CIS Services sales team. Providing timely introductions and the trackable handoff of warm leads to support member needs and provide solutions geared for individual challenges. Maintain high functioning cooperation with internal teams at external events and conferences
  • Enable engagement with CISA state coordinators and regional representatives to promote joint planning and coordination. Create mutually beneficial relationships across CIS, federal partners and SLTT-focused trade associations on services, solutions, and pilots that will help increase the security maturity of SLTTs
  • Utilize a CRM (Salesforce) to meticulously log all communication, meeting notes, key takeaways, and action items. Deliver metrics on functions within a region
  • Generate insightful membership-based reports to prepare and present program results to various internal and external audiences, including senior management and our federal partners
  • Drive efficient use of customer service tools and software to ensure timely, individualized engagement
  • Travel, up to 35%, for presentations, speaking engagements, customer visits, trade shows, etc.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree relevant to the above duties*
  • 3+ years of work experience in a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in working with and/or influencing external and internal teams
  • Proven ability in building and maintaining successful relationships with varied stakeholders
  • Public speaking experience and the ability to learn complex concepts and translate them to various audiences
  • Ability to accommodate mission-based overnight travel as necessary, up to 35%
  • Proven track record as a team player and multi-dimensional problem solver
  • Strong emotional maturity, interpersonal and communication skills, and professional demeanor
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • The position is open to U.S. citizens and requires a favorably adjudicated DHS Fitness Review for Public Trust Positions**

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Concentration in Cybersecurity or technology or industry recognized certifications (ex: CompTIA, GIAC)
  • Salesforce CRM software experience
  • Strong track record in managing customer service and promoting a positive customer experience
  • Project Management experience

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
